(Hind)Rocketing to Fame And Leaving The Little People Behind

Powerline is a great and important blog, and like most conservative Minnesota bloggers I take regional pride that they're 2/3 a Minnesota operation.

But as they've grown, they've occasionally shown signs of becoming ... let's say a bit out of touch with fellow bloggers.

One particular incident along those lines tickled my funnybone this evening. Hindrocket has a post, Get Off Our Side, which cites a NY Post article regarding Ward Churchill - the moonbat University of Colorado Professor who recently made contemptible statements regarding 9/11. Hindrocket writes:

Ward Churchill is the professor of Ethnic Studies at the University of Colorado who has been in the news because of an article he wrote applauding the September 11 attacks and characterizing people who work in the financial services industry as "little Eichmanns." ... It turns out that Churchill, who has long claimed to be an Indian and has written books comparing the American government's treatment of Indians to the Holocaust, may be a fraud as well a a charlatan:
He then cites the NY Post article, beginning:

Ward Churchill, the university professor under fire for likening victims of the 9/11 attacks to Nazis, has been misrepresenting himself as a member of an American Indian tribe, a Cherokee official claims.
You know, this rings a bell. An obscure blog Hindrocket may have seen once or twice in passing posted this, last Thursday:

Ward Churchill, whose reference to certain 9/11 victims as "little Eichmans" drew such outrage, may have more to hide than first thought. Churchill has frequently touted his background as a Native American (Cherokee Nation) as his bona fides to teach and speak on Indian issues, among other causes. Now CQ reader Jim Walker notes a press release from the American Indian Movement and signed by well-known activist Dennis Banks that outs Churchill as a fraud
Okay, there are only so many hours in a day. Perhaps he was too busy to swing by his fellow Northern Alliance blog lately (Oops. Maybe not.)

But note the post at Captain's Quarters immediately after the Ward Churchill post:

The Northern Alliance will sit in for Hugh Hewitt tonight from 5-8 pm CT as Hugh is traveling today. We'll be taking on Peter Beinart in a foreshadowing of the debate next week at our Patriot Forum. Governor Bill Owen of Colorado will also be joining us, as will John Podhoretz of the New York Post, one of our favorite writers in the mainstream media.
Hmm... these guys do seem to run in similar circles. Didn't the New York Post and something about Colorado appear somewhere above? Curiously, the same day there was also this from Powerline:

The Trunk and I will be filling in for Hugh Hewitt tonight from 6:00 t0 8:00, central time. Tune in and listen. At the top of the second hour we'll be interviewing Larry Schweikart, co-author of A Patriot's History of the United States. We'll be talking about the State of the Union and other news items of the day.

And speaking of that fill-in appearence, another fellow Northern Alliance blogger posted this in reaction to this post from Powerline speaking about that very radio appearence:

But Rocket man also says:

Last night, the Trunk and I did two hours of Power Line radio, substituting for Hugh Hewitt.
Who was that masked man with the hacking cough across the desk from you guys, anyway?
Could have been this fellow, but I'm going out on a limb there. I'll only believe it if it's posted at Powerline.

(I kid because I love.)

Say... If they're not careful, Powerline could see some serious "Blog cred" slippage over this kind of thing.
